So apparently Hanes and Jefferson got Superiors too...

Superior!

8th grade band got a Superior ranking at Band Festival this year! Its when the band plays in front of judges and get a grade. Yay! In Hanes's FACE!

Muddy Creek

We went biking on the Muddy Creek trail today. At the unpaved end we saw some deer tracks and squirrel tracks.

My math teacher's trailer has a huge footprint beside it in the mud, its about 5-6 inches wide and really deep. You can see the claw marks too. Everybody thought it was a bear print but my science teacher says its a bobcat print.

TKD

Today in taekwondo class we ran suicides and turning around so fast so many times split the skin on my toes. Owie.

My grade had a field trip today to listen to Jamie Clarke talk about failure. He climbed Mt. Everest twice and failed to reach the summit, and he finally got to it on the third try. He was talking about how he had to figure out what success was and what failure was. It was really cool to see how he related his climbing stories to life. Like this one time they had to cross these huge crevasses on a ladder type thing and he saw the rungs as the people who helped him. Look him up. He is really funny.

Random

Today in band the 2nd chair talked about swallowing gum and how he must have 10 pieces in his stomach now because it doesn't digest for 7 years.

Gym

I played basketball in gym a few days ago and smacked my friend in the head with the ball. Now every time she sees me she screams "duck and cover!" and runs away....

:) my bad.

All State

I made 3rd chair! Thats so cool 'cuz last year I got 18th, so I improved a lot. My classmate got 1st alternate, which really sucks. It means he almost made the cut but didn't. And my friend from summer band camp was there, and she made it. My friend from Hanes made it.
The clinic is at UNCG-my friend from band camp there and I are going to have a lot of good memories....

BoB

AH WE HAD OUR BATTLE OF THE BOOKS COMPETITION YESTERDAY AND WE GOT 2ND PLACE! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH THATS SO COOL!
We lost to Hanes by 2 points! and beat Paisley by one point! Ain't that awesome? It was like, the absolute last question that determined placings!


I have All State Band auditions tomorrow. My friend in the mountains told me to find a guy from her school (who shall remain nameless) and beat him BAD because he is a butt.

Sledding

I went sledding at Meadowlark today. We walked from the neighborhood to the big hill by the soccer field and it was all muddy so we went to the place by all the trailers by the road. Then we saw this guy in my class and his mom knew the person who owned the horse ranch across the road so we sledded on the HUGE hill thats behind the house. It was awesome! But we kept on running into horse poop.

YES!!

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! Its snnnnoooowwwwwiiiiinnnnnngggg!!!! OMG and its 9:15 PM and my neighbors are outside playing. They're screaming too. I am this close to opening the window and telling them to shut up. :)

And my fingers are freezing, I can hardly type.

I was practicing the clarinet today and going through all 15 of my reeds to find good ones for All State auditions this Saturday and I took notes one them so I could go back and see which ones were best and stuff. I took a green sharpie and wrote all over them. One actually says "never use, bad tone 4 notes above the break, staccato sux" in the little 1 inch area below the playing part.....its pretty much all clarinet speak, so if you don't get what I'm talking about its ok...
