I'm BAACKK!!! I've been grounded from blogging and email for the past 2 months (aka a bajillion years....at least it felt like that long).

-had to wear a dress for our band concert at Reagan twice :P
-made 2nd chair all county band!
-umm......applied for two grants for our music trio...

Homecoming

Our school lost the homecoming game to an apparently usually really bad football team.....lol but I don't really care....I was too busy watching the marching band being the band geek I am because this was the first time I've ever seen them perform outside of practice. And Color Guard. Anyways, it was really funnnnnnnnnnnn.............

YESSSS

Haha I got 1st chair in band and now the junior who was 1st chair last year is 4th chair because of freshmen and sophomores. she's pissed. lol

Finally

we get chair spots in band tomorrow! finally....apparently some people were absent and didn't audition until yesterday.....tomorrow is Friday! Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!! love it

I was doing "pull-ups" (really just holding one because girls are allowed to hang and see how long we can hold a pullup) and before my turn, my elbow realllllyyyy had to crack but it wouldn't so when I got up there it was really painful because I had been like, snapping my arm back and forth trying to crack it before my turn but it didn't. So I got up there, stepped off the chair, felt extreme pain in my elbow and tried to drop but my other arm cramped up because it was sore from taekwondo so I kind of dangled lopsided for a second or two before it uncramped. It probably looked really stupid... :D My awesome time--about half a second......I don't think its even half of the National time.....haha

Played kickball in gym today....I can't wait until we actually start a sport, especially badminton....I asked my gym coach today when we were doing badminton and he said "when the weather gets cold" and I asked him how long we would do it and he said "2 weeks" and I said badminton rocks we should do it for a month and he said "whatever, Rae. go away." :) he wasn't being mean, he was like, joking. But anyways.....

I love Latin. I have like, a 104 average in that class.

Iguana

Yeah, random thought of the day--last year my friend's iguana got fed two cherries and it got constipated on the pits so her dad tried to squeeze them out and that didn't work and then he fed it chinese herbs that help with digestion (yeah, they're asian) and that didn't work so in the end it turned completely white and died. i think i told some of you guys that through email but if I didn't, then thats what happened.

school again

school is the only thing pretty much going on right now....well, last night our trio group gave a concert at a retirement home as the kickoff of the Healthcare Courtyard Concert Series....Youth Symphony started....um......Latin is fun! love it :) I got my lowest progress report grade ever in my life yesterday in SM English--86.9%....I hate postulates and theorems and proofs, they bug the crap outta me.......doing the freaking fitness test in gym.....did chair auditions in band today, getting results on Monday and a junior and 3 seniors think I'm Clarinet Goddess and am gonna "beat them like crap"........hmmm.....thats about it.......email me!

school

hmm....not as much homework as I thought it would be, but its only the beginning....at least I'm not taking AP WH like SOME people I know......cough cough

I think we freshman have gotten very easily amused....at lunch on Friday, my friend found one of those fake ice cream cones with the foam thing on top that pops out when you press a button, and we were playing with that thing for 20 minutes, no joke. Until it landed in my friend's peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Camp Hanes

Went to Camp Hanes over the weekend and stayed one night for our youth symphony retreat. "Team building." I guess it worked brecause I know a lot of peoples names now.
My TOTALLY favorite part was the High Ropes. It was like this thing where there were two platforms 45 feet in the air and there were wires connecting it with 2x2 feet wood square things on them. We had these harnesses and we had to jump from square to square without holding on to the wires and it was pretty scary but SOOPER fun!!! And at the end we ziplined down across the lake...........LOVE IT.

SCHOOL

ugh...there's this new wing at my school that has a bridge connecting it and the gym hall--I'm gonna use it 3 times a day. Its my own little shortcut LOL.

Orientation

Freshmen Orientation was today. Pretty weird, had like, 20 assemblies...ok, not really, but it was a sooper long day and we did a scavenger hunt--except I couldn't hear the instructions so it took awhile to start...

Hopefully tomorrow is better--we get our schedules and we're going by schedule tomorrow kind of! yyyyaaaaaayyyy I kind of can guess who I'll have already. I hope theres people I know in my classes.

And after tomorrow's orientation, I have my first clarinet lesson since I got back form Taiwan and after braces...IDK how it'll go.....

Braces

went to visit my friend in the mountains this weekend, it was fun. We went berry picking on this hiking trail. There were tons of blueberries and we also found a lot of blackberries, but blackberries have these little thorns that superhurt, so....maybe it was because we went off the trail into a huge group of bushes...

kumdo

aaaannnndddd after TODAY's kumdo class, i repulled (again) my hamstrings, got 3 new blisters and 4 miniblisters, and my legs and hands are shaking. i can't even move the mouse that well.

tonight

tonights class gave me blisters--and pulled both hamstrings (again)

OUCH

soreness all over not cool ow ow. calves are still minorly shaking, fell down when i got out of bed and now have a bruise on my shoulder! aaaaannnnnnnddddddd got class tonight again. o yeay.

sword class

OMG the class was fun! We did stances almost the whole 1 and a half hour and now if I don't lock my knees, my whole leg shakes. and I pulled my left hamstring. Yeah, um, going from doing almost nothing strenuous for a month to that is NOT cool!
Turns out the guest master who taught us was one of the world's only sword grandmaster. Cool, huh? And he usually only teaches other masters and instructors. Totally awesome.

I have classes all through Monday (none on Sunday). Its a whole seminar. My sis has to have her wisdom teeth out tomorrow! :) so she can't go. Haha, I don't envy her, the new way he is teaching us is how we'll be doing it from now on--its a lot different--our master has been teaching us how it was 6 years ago because thats the last time he's been to Korea to learn swords.

home

I am home now! So totally would spend another 2 weeks there....but anyways.....goin grocery shopping this morning ofr something to do....and plus, our fridge is maybe only 5% full:)!!

I have a grandmaster's sword class in taekwondo today at 7 PM, hope I stay awake.

traveling

sorry haven't posted in a while, been driving all over Taiwan--1st day to Taizhong, second to Kaohsiung, then drove back. No computer. Altogether a maybe...13 hour driving time. And tomorrow driving back so Suao--1 hr. Not that bad though, because I have Wang Xin Ru's new CD on my Mp3....told you I'm obsessed.

Went to another indoor play place today-- at the pool, there were showers in the locker room but the doors were translucent--like normal, but in a public place, I don't do that....lol but I guess the little 5 or 6 year old kids don't care....they don't care so much that I saw two of them peeing in the shower. No joke.

Trash

The trash trucks here come daily, playing Fur Elise and stop randomly so you just go up and throw your trash in. And recycling once a week. I personally think its really cool.

Obsessed with the World Game sin Kaohsiung now....watching it whenever we are home because it is so much cooler than Olympics! Theres taichi, taichi swords, taichi staff, and cool group gymnastics! But no swimming except with dolphin flippers and no track and field.

Tans

I officially have a semi-bad farmers tan now. There is a pretty bad sleeve line and an ok shorts line. Plus I have a SOCK TAN now! Theres a TOTALLY visibal line where my socks are! I have to tan my feet when I get back.

I had a dream last night that I was smoking and I liked it....aftereffect of Hong Kong smokers?....

I've always wanted to go on an airplane with my friends--international! In 5th grade,my friends from Nepal and Phillipines and NC used to say how one summer, we would spend a week in each of our countries....first to Taiwan, because its closest, then to Phillipines, then Nepal. And to end it, to Asheville to visit our NC friends' grandma. LOL I don't think it'll ever happen....

I'm having to cut my nails every 5 or 6 days now because if I itch a bug bite or something I get junk from sweat under my nails if they're too long.

Peak

Today we went to the Peak, this city on the peak of a mountain (hence the name.....) and rode a trolley/tram back down. OMG it was freakin scary! It was on tracks like a normal trolley but it was at a.....abouta 75 or 80-85 degree hill. Steeper than the ones at San Francisco....

had a mango drink for dessert after lunch at this famous place.......mangoes rock.

in Hong Kong

Using a hotel computer in the lobby for free. We got a NNNIIIICEEEE hotel, courtesy of Cola Tours! They rock. Anyways, I waited for 30 mins to use this thing because theres 10 computers and a TON of kids who want to play computer games. There are SO many more important things to do....like email!! Hello???????!?!?!?? One girl we saw on this one when walking out to eat dinner, we came back she was still there, then my sis and I came down here and she was STILL there. She was on the computer for at least 1 and a half hours and there was a little group of people waiting to use a computer behind her. And she was playing some snowboarding game! Ugh. I'm sorry, that just bothers me.

We got here at about 12 then had to go through a bunch of lines like Health Dept., Customs, baggage claim, Nothing to Declare....you get it.

We went walking around all day today....my feet were sore from yesterday, walking around Yingge in Taiwan (its like ceramic city there!) and now they are officially killing me.

HK

Leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow as long as the planes fly with the typhoon there.

Watermelons

Today we saw on this show that rubbing your face with watermelon crust does something or other to make your face prettier....helps your skin or something. So when we were eating watermelon after dinner, we wiped the crust across our faces--but me being me slapped the crust across my eyes harder than I thought and got a chunk of watermelon + juice in my eye and it still kinda hurtz.... :)

The World Competitions are also in Taiwan this year--in Kaohshiung (I think thats how you spell it in English).

Typhoon

A typhoon is coming to Taiwan, it'll get here on Saturday, and we're leaving for Hong Kong on Sunday. Oh I forgot to tell you, We're not going to Malaysia because our travel agent was jacked up and confused, so we're going to HK instead. But with a typhoon.........I personally don't want to fly in one. I've flown in a thunderstorm before and THAT was freaky enough!

Smart

So today I acted totally Taiwanese by accident. I crossed the road without looking and nearly got run over, then ignored the driver when he honked at me and caused a traffic jam behind him because he was busy yelling at me. :)

The '09 Deaflympics are in Taipei this year--in September.

Earthquake

Apparently the second night we were in Suao, the was an earthquake at 1 in the morning while we were sleeping. Pretty big one too. My family all says that the building was shaking. Me, on the other hand, didn't even wake up.

Argh

So Suao is where my dad's mom lives, we were going to stay until Wednesday. But a THEIF got into our house in Taipei so we had to come back!!!!!! My stuff is all there, and I think so is about everyone else's. All our valuable stuff like electronics were in Suao with us!!! Lucky. But our aunt saw these two guys hanging around the gate to our place and took them to the police station and they claimed they were picking up their dog from a sitter, but they were there 2 hours late....and their footprints match the ones outside my sister and I's back door in our room. But they were really mad because they were being interrogated, so they cussed out my aunt and stuff. So she stayed inside all day today in case they came back. It was that bad.

Suao

I'll be in Suao for the next two or three days, and they don't have internet there, so I won't be able to email or post....

I forgot to write.....before Danshui yesterday, we went to a glass museum and did glassblowing! Like, actually melted glass and stuff! I made a paperweight and we still don't know what they look like because we had to leave it there to let it return to room temperature.

Went to a pop concert last night. We heard like, 10 pop stars--it was a little tour called Yes U Camp.....its was really cool. My favorite person was Wang Xing Ru. It was free too. My cousin got tickets that they were giving off the streets.

Its kinda weird that I haven't been to a concert there but I have here...

TODAY

Today we went to a golfing place! Like Prescription Golf over on Country Club but huger! And I found out that I'm actually pretty good at golf....then went to a 10 meter pistol shooting place....I'm terrible at that, I can hit the target but not the bulls eye. And then went to archery place....I love that! I shot 3 little water balloons from 10 meters away! I, like, have never done archery before but I love it now.

Oh, and we bought stinky tofu at the night market.....it actually does smell really bad but tastes good even though it tastes exactly like it smells. Its a catchy name in Chinese, though.....it rhymes!

Night Market

We went to the night market yesterday! Its like a blocked off street that have a bunch of stores open at night. Haha we did this thing where they have these huge tubs full of live fish the size of anchovies and you buy the papered rings and you try to catch them and scoop them into a bucket. Its SO hard because the paper breaks a lot...

I think my right arm sweats more than the left.

We went to Danshui today, its this riverside city that has cool stores and a street with games and stuff....we threw darts and hit water balloons....I won a Stitch blow up hammer thing! Yay!

More weird stuff

I had a lot to say and now I'm having a brain fart......

We were walking up and down a road and we passed some stores....one was playing "Womanizer," one played "Don't Trust Me," and one played "Shikira".....shows just how much Taiwan people like American singers....also went into a clothing store that seemed to have the entire Hannah Montana colloection--HM song after HM song, and we were in there thirty minutes.

And we also went on a childrens playground yesterday (don't ask why!) and the words "I want to f**k you" were written on the slide......freaky! This is a kids playground we are talking about! I mean the kind where the stuff is made of bright, colorful, cheap plastic!! And F**K was written in an elevator....we were good citizens and wiped it off....and got our fingertips all black....

Oh, and played Majhong yesterday! It is like, a really fun game. If you ever learn how to play the REAL version (most of the ones online aren't) you'll see. :)

Totally Weird

Haha its so funny how the Taiwan salespeople talk really loud all the time even when they're talking to people right beside them about stuff. I mean, we were in this huge market this morning, and there was an underwear saleslady who was like, SHOUTING about her stuff and a lady went up, and we were 3 stalls down at a veggies place and we could hear the saleslady screaming about the lady needing a larger size and wires and stuff because her breasts were changing shape....LOL we were buying veggies and we were like, oooookkkkk.....?

Cool!

We're going to Malaysia for 5 days! with Cola Tours. We took their tour to Thailand 3 years ago, it was really fun! They don't only take us to museums and whatever, we went to an amusement park and rode elephants and stuff too so I'm pretty excited......

LOL theres H1N1 here but so far no one has died here歐TㄋㄇLOT 高 .....oh my bad, this computer switches to Chinese if you hold the shift key too long, and I don't want to backspace because this backspace button is jacked up! soooo.....anyways, no one has died here but there are a LOT of people wearing masks on the street. Well, not really, but more than usual.

My cousin is out playing badminton. Oh, my aunt says theres a street or market or something in Taiwan here that is mostly for teenagers, so will ask my cousin to take us because she doesn't want to go....she says its "boring."

Temple

We went to a temple today to pray (I'm not Buddhist I'm kinda Atheist I guess, but we go for fun.....my gradma tells us to, plus its something to do). There was a huge crowd because of some ceremony so the incense sticks burnt some people and the ashes that fell of hurt too. I got burnt 4 times. LOL even though it kinda huuuurrrtttt...

So Here I Sit.....

sweating like a PIG....its nighttime, so we don't turn on the AC, I really don't mind as long as I have a fan, but the one in this room is at the very TOP of the wall....so its not really hitting me, its just circulating air, which helps too, I guess, but....

Right now, I have nothing to do.....I can't read my book...well, I can, but my grandma just unplugged the fan I was sitting in front of, so....I don't really want to read. Its only 7:54 PM so its too early for a shower even though I REALLY want to take one, but I want to get over jet lag faster....and once I shower, its possible to go to bed, so I don't want to do that. Showering is, BTW, my favorite part of the day. Everyone else here is watching the news, which of course is in Chinese.....which I do understand but the news here just uses like, really big phrases that I don't really totally get....its kinda as if I was in 3rd grade watching the news there; I know the language but the vocab they use is too hard to get.

Watched Wimbledon last night! until 11:40 PM (which is 11:40 AM there.) Federer won! Yay even though I should be going for Roddick because according to Chia-min (my cousin) he is the USA champ, but everyone else was going for Roddick, so I went for Federer, just to be different. Ha, in their FACES! Federer WON! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Chia-min, she should be home by now....oh, I'm psychic, she just walked in the door! Wait nevermind, that was my sister and aunt and uncle back from a walk.....no, wait, Chia-min came in with them.....I think....well, anyways, I don't feel like getting up to look, because that means walking and sweating more. Unnecessary movement! LOL.

Never ever go to Taiwan right after Drivers Ed. If they have the same laws here as we have in USA, there is a law broken every 2 seconds! Actually saw a taxi cut in front of a bus in the middle of a turn! And people driving in the middle of lanes....is driving me loco!

Oh, and I just remembered that my hair stylist from yesterday--her name was Cherry (literally translated) and her last name was Red. LOL.

It was so HUMID today cuz it rained. Usually its not so wet....its just warm and damp-ish and you don't really sweat a LOT but the moisture just....condenses on your skin and its so annoying.

Haha theres these really cool thingys here that I bet you could find in USA somewhere but I've never seen them there....they're these little tennis racket looking thingys that if you press a button, the net gets like, electricity running through it and you can swpie it where a bug is flying and electrocute it to death! They're so cool...and when the bug is electrocuted it makes a huge spark! Haha LOVE IT

Went to Taipei 101 today, but didn't go up to the top because, first of all, you have to pay, second of all, we've been there before and there is nothing up there but dark colored artwork, a nice view that is pretty much the same as anywhere else's nice view, and a huge pendulum that keeps the building balanced.

OK

Ok, first of all, the plane ride was terrible. I slept 3 hours of our total of 30 hours traveling. Totally sucked......I watched Monsters vs Aliens on the plane, that is the WEIRDEST movie ever.

1st day back; went to the Taiwan Flower Market....Its kinda like the Farmers Market in USA but it sells flowers....and a bit farther on, fish, jade bracelets and junk like that. I found grapes there! because last year, for a "what are you going to do this summer" sketch, I drew eating grapes in Taiwan even though I had never EVER 斯黁 (sorry, pressing and holding the shift button on this computer changes the language to Chinese) seen grapes here before. LOL...

Yesterday we went to this store on a corner....Taiwan sells the cutest stuff! and got a haircut.....7 cm and layers in the inside...

Drivers Ed this week and next. Its.....weird. I have an interesting teacher. She gave us HOMEWORK! ARGH!!!!

Last Day of School

Haha we had a LOT of fun on the last day.....we watched Monsters Inc....well, at least, it was playing on the TV. No one was really watching it. In my last class, we played monkey in the middle and "Honey I love you," which is this game where everyone stands in a circle and one person is in the middle. That person chooses someone and has to tell them, "Honey, I love you, and if you love me back, you'll smile." Then that perosn has to say, "Honey I love you too, but I can't smile" without smiling. Its really funny to watch other people doing it.

Most of my friends cried when we left and those who didn't did when we walked down the hallway....my classmate started crying just because the teachers were singing that "na na na na na na na na hey hey hey goodbye" song as we were walking down to the buses...

Bowling

Went bowling for an end of year party today. Then came back, locked down the whole 8th grade hall, and signed yearbooks.

I got a 100 on my Algebra EOC! Sweeeeeeeeeett...

Carowinds

Took a band trip to Carowinds today...was fun! I brought a pack of cards so we were playing Egyptian Ratscrew in the middle of the lines and stuff...haha. And someone in our gorup was in line for Nighthawk for 2 1/2 hours! We rode some stuff then came back and waited for 1/2 hour and saw she was at the VERY FRONT of the line, and the ride broke down. Sucks.

Awards Ceremony

We had the 8th grade Awards Ceremony today...I got a few....people called me an award hog...

Then we went back to school...pretty much everybody except 25 people in the whole grade left with their parents so we did nothing the rest of the day....it was fun...I was sent on a "mission" by my teachers to find a microphone they could use tomorrow so I ran from the 8th grade hall to the chorus room...she told me to ask the gym teachers.....they told me to go to the library.....she told me to go to the office....they told me to go to the band room....where I found everybody was outside playing. So I went to the bathroom....and I came back and they were back and I asked him....he asked which kind of plug I wanted because he had several different ones...I said I didn't know....went all the way back to the 8th grade hall to ask....teachers sent me to tell him they didn't know and they would come look tomorrow when they had the speaker.

Argh.

Auditions

Had an audition for Youth Symphony yesterday......I think I did OK but my sis says I did really good, so....we'll see.

EOG scores

Yes! All 4's. A 379 in Math, which is a 1 point deduction from last year, a 371 in Reading, 2 points away from a 3 OMG, and a 165 in Science. Shweet.

Camping

Camping was awesome. We put up the tents when we got there, then went hiking and we saw a bunch of bugs. My friend had a stomachache so after about 1 mile or so me and her and her little brother and our friend went back to the campsite and sat while everybody else kept going....I am SO glad we did! Apparently they walked 4.5 miles after that....and we sat by the fire pit (with no fire in it) and drew in my sketchbook. We sketched later that day too....I have a lot of cool new drawings in it.....and now the sketchbook smells like campfire, really strongly! Haha. And I drew in it again when I woke up at 7:00 AM and everyone else was sleeping and I couldn't go outside because it was raining. But anyways.....we went for a "moonlit walk" before we went to sleep, except there was no moon, and the walk was only around the campground...

Camping

We're going camping this Memorial Day weekend! In the mountains. Yaaaayyy I can't wait! Have you ever toasted a marshmallow, caught it on fire, kept it on fire until it was black and bubbly and burnt, then ate it? Its ggooooooooooodddd...........

I had a really weird story on the EOGs today....but I'm technically not allowed to talk about EOGs.....so I definitely didn't have a story about a girl named Donna who dreamed she could fly then went to school and tried it out and flew around the bathroom.....nope, that story that I just told you about was NOT on the EOGs.

We had an taekwondo Open House at the Reynolda school last Saturday.....it started drizzling about half an hour before it ended, and by the time we were putting stuff away, it was pouring. Haha, we were taking down the shelter things and all the water on it dumped on RY.....that was funny...

I got a huge allergic reaction to something on Tuesday night! OMG I was COVERED in hives so now I have to take prednisone for a few days and I'm better now, but last night my arms, back, legs, stomach.....and butt....were covered! It was soooooo itchy.

OBX Trip

The 8th grade is going on the Outer Banks trip tomorrow through Friday and I'm not going. I don't really care though...I've been there before....except all my friends are going! Everybody's abandoning meeee...

All State

The All State Band clinic started yesterday from 1 to 9 PM and today from 9 AM to 4:30 PM (except our conductor ran it 1/2 and hour late).

At the end of today, all the clarinets had a huge LUMP on our thumbs from holding up the clarinet (google it if you don't know clarinet anatomy). I feel like I have a big overbite from all the playing! I mean, it got to the point where I was taking the clarinet out of my mouth and I could FEEL my bottom teeth move back into place if I pushed on them with my tongue...Ugh. I'm gonna just sit there and READ and watch movies all evening. And do homework.

Earth Week

I won a stuffed hedgehog!!! for wearing green all week. His name is Larry and he can roll up into a ball and do somersaults....

My friend hasn't been in school for the past two weeks because she dropped boiling water or oil or something on her foot....ouch.

Friends and Family Week

My taekwondo is doing a Friends and Family week where we can get friends and family to come take class with us. Me and Em are planning to invite everybody in our class! Or at least most of them. Well, half. But Em is really excited and I'm scared about what she's going to do...uh oh spaghetti-o.

Easter slugs

We had an Easter egg hunt yesterday. It was fun. But it rained earlier and we found slugs all over the place. Yeah, I picked up a blue egg in a bush and two little slugs were crawling on it...ugh. And when we went inside, there was a huge one in my basket. And then we found one crawling across the table. Freaked us out.

Arthur

Haha I'm watching Arthur right now....its about the only show I've ever watched religiously. I LOVE Arthur! He's this aardvark (I don't even know what that is) who has a friend named Buster who is a bunny and it is so weird!

My teacher from 6th grade who moved to Maryland last summer came to NC to visit because she was on spring break. Nice to see you, Mrs. H.

8th grade band got a Superior ranking at Band Festival this year! Its when the band plays in front of judges and get a grade. Yay! In Hanes's FACE!

Muddy Creek

We went biking on the Muddy Creek trail today. At the unpaved end we saw some deer tracks and squirrel tracks.

My math teacher's trailer has a huge footprint beside it in the mud, its about 5-6 inches wide and really deep. You can see the claw marks too. Everybody thought it was a bear print but my science teacher says its a bobcat print.

TKD

Today in taekwondo class we ran suicides and turning around so fast so many times split the skin on my toes. Owie.

My grade had a field trip today to listen to Jamie Clarke talk about failure. He climbed Mt. Everest twice and failed to reach the summit, and he finally got to it on the third try. He was talking about how he had to figure out what success was and what failure was. It was really cool to see how he related his climbing stories to life. Like this one time they had to cross these huge crevasses on a ladder type thing and he saw the rungs as the people who helped him. Look him up. He is really funny.

Random

Today in band the 2nd chair talked about swallowing gum and how he must have 10 pieces in his stomach now because it doesn't digest for 7 years.

Gym

I played basketball in gym a few days ago and smacked my friend in the head with the ball. Now every time she sees me she screams "duck and cover!" and runs away....

:) my bad.

All State

I made 3rd chair! Thats so cool 'cuz last year I got 18th, so I improved a lot. My classmate got 1st alternate, which really sucks. It means he almost made the cut but didn't. And my friend from summer band camp was there, and she made it. My friend from Hanes made it.
The clinic is at UNCG-my friend from band camp there and I are going to have a lot of good memories....

AH WE HAD OUR BATTLE OF THE BOOKS COMPETITION YESTERDAY AND WE GOT 2ND PLACE! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH THATS SO COOL!
We lost to Hanes by 2 points! and beat Paisley by one point! Ain't that awesome? It was like, the absolute last question that determined placings!


I have All State Band auditions tomorrow. My friend in the mountains told me to find a guy from her school (who shall remain nameless) and beat him BAD because he is a butt.

Sledding

I went sledding at Meadowlark today. We walked from the neighborhood to the big hill by the soccer field and it was all muddy so we went to the place by all the trailers by the road. Then we saw this guy in my class and his mom knew the person who owned the horse ranch across the road so we sledded on the HUGE hill thats behind the house. It was awesome! But we kept on running into horse poop.

YES!!

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! Its snnnnoooowwwwwiiiiinnnnnngggg!!!! OMG and its 9:15 PM and my neighbors are outside playing. They're screaming too. I am this close to opening the window and telling them to shut up. :)

And my fingers are freezing, I can hardly type.

I was practicing the clarinet today and going through all 15 of my reeds to find good ones for All State auditions this Saturday and I took notes one them so I could go back and see which ones were best and stuff. I took a green sharpie and wrote all over them. One actually says "never use, bad tone 4 notes above the break, staccato sux" in the little 1 inch area below the playing part.....its pretty much all clarinet speak, so if you don't get what I'm talking about its ok...
yes I am a horrible band geek.

Concert

We actually didn't laugh during the concert! Before it started, the conductor told us to NOT LOOK AT HER so we didn't but we all ALMOST started to laugh, but we didn't!

Philaharmonic

I'm in this symphony for middle schoolers called Philaharmonic. Today we were having a dress rehearsal for our next concert and we were playing this reall slow piece where each phrase, the whole symphony rests on beats one and two. So a few weeks ago, our conductor, whos hilariously funny, told us to NEVERNEVERNEVERNEVER play on those rests on 3 and 4 and me and the oboeist were really confused cuz the rests were on 1 and 2 so I raised my hand and told her. So now, EVERY SINGLE TIME we get to those spots she STARES at me a like, mouths ONE TWO. Its really funny and today she did it again and me and the oboe started laughing and we couldn't stop and the flutes started laughing because we were laughing even though they didn't know why.

So I was laughing because oboe and flutes were laughing and they were laughing because I was laughing so no of us could stop and we couldn't play for half the piece....

It was hilarious, I guess its not really funny if you weren't there and you didn't see it.... :)

Band Class

This is TOTALLY random, but the guy I sit next to in band class LOST his mouthpiece the other day....it was SO weird....I mean, not a lot of people play their instrument and forget to put the mouthpiece in...playing Paisley tomorrow!

Kernersville

Not bragging or anything, but we CREAMED Kernersville, 72-35. Now we gotta play Paisley again on Wednesday. The presentation team topic is E-waste. What the heck does that mean?

Paisley

We had another match against Paisley on Tuesday and we lost by eight points....we are in the quarterfinals against Kernersville tomorrow...

TODAY I WAS ON THE COMPUTER AND MY VISION LIKE, SUDDENLY BLURRED KINDA AND I GOT A HEADACHE IDK WHY BUT IT WAS REALLY WEIRD AND IT ONLY LASTED ABOUT 10 MINUTES!

Fun

All District was fun... I had two solos....Ms. Golden was awesome. Two of my friends wrote down all the weird stuff she said and showed her. She wanted them to email them to her so she could hang it up on her door. :) My friend was 1st chair flute and she was wearing black pants for the concert. She has black hair too, and I told her that her hair matched her pants. She looked at me like I was crazy...
Match against Hanes...we lost by only by 12 points! And we got them their lowest score for the whole season!

Excited

Tomorrow is our NAL match against Hanes! OMG I can't wait. Kinda weird, I know. And on Friday, its the All District Clinic! Mrs. Golden, who was our conductor in All County, is our conductor again! Yay! I love that lady...
Haha, I was in the newspaper...or my legs were, anyway. There was a front page article about the Chinese New Year Festival, and smack dab middle is a pic of me and Rae-Yao dancing the lion dance....of course I was the lion butt so you can't see my head...

Chinese New Year

Yesterday we had the Chinese New Year Festival! There were like, 700 people there. My mom organizes it. This year we bought a giant panda mascot suit online and I had to wear it. It wasn't that bad, once I got used to the heat. And the eyeholes were kinda small and I couldn't see below my neck unless I bent all the way down, so I stepped on three kids :). My bad.....but yeah. It was pretty fun.

Testing

Just tested for my red tip for taekwondo. Punced through a 2 inch board for breaking and stuff, it didn't really hurt but my sister was like "its gonna hurt" and I'm like "whatever"

All District

I had all district band auditions yesterday. I did ok, I guess. The judges in the scales room wouldn't let me play all the octaves I wanted! I was so mad.

I am watching a Nature show on skunks right now. They showed a slow-motion video of a skunk spraying. It was gross. They like, spray from this nozzle in their butt that like sticks out really far when they want to spray....ugh...

Quiz

I just took a quiz to see what Twilight character I was most like and apparently I'm Jasper. My sister wanted to take it but then it said we had to sign up for a free membership so I told her she was Jasper too. She pretty much had the same answers as me. Dangflabbit stupid membership thingies.

Ha

My blister fell off when I was doing swords today! Well, the skin did anyway, but there's only like, one small layer of skin under it thats grown back so it officially looks like I have a hole in my thumb now.
I finished a project for science class yesterday, and I found a bag of feathers so there are green, yellow, orange, and light green feathers around the edges now! It looks sooooo weird but thats ok...my teacher said it had to be eyecatching and it definitely is.

New Prez

Obama is our president now! I bet in a few months people will start saying how he couldn't fix things or whatever, because we all know that would have happened no matter who got elected....

Had the reading quarter tests today. I finished so early, I got soooo bored so I TRIED drawing my teacher because she was the only one who was staying in one place and not changing positions. It didn't look a THING like her so I named it Sally Moore because I thought it looked like a Sally....it was her hair. It looked like hair that a Sally would have. :)

I'm watching Saturday Night Live right now, a replay of the Presidential Bash. I think it's my 3rd or 4th time seeing it.

It's still funny.

You know that V8 commercial where the person smacks that other person and says "coulda had a V8?" All of a sudden, everybody has been doing that to me!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder why. Its like a fad or something! :) And some people are calling me Bon Qui Qui a lot....ahem, Sam.....not naming any names or anything.....

BTW, I earned a Silver Key in Scholastic Arts and Writing Fair!! YAY!

What is the point of titles? Mine always end up as Sweet or something crappy like that. Anyway, my sister finished the white side of a 3x3 Rubik's Cube and won't let anybody touch it now. Shes so proud of it, I don't think she'll ever finish the rest of it. If I mess up one row and come back 1 hour later, its always fixed. Obsessive...

Today

Today our NAL team beat Northwest 58-36!! I am so totally happy! I mean, Northwest got 1 point in the 1st round and we got 13. But in 2nd round, they got 12 and we only got 3....so my NAL peeps who are reading this now, didn't that make you nervous??? OMG we were so freaking out and we told the 3rd round presentation team that "they better do well or else they were going dooooowwwnnn." And they did so good! Northwest put up a good fight though.

Tomorrow my team is going to the Career Center to tour it. I hope we go to the aviation place. I took aviation summer camp there and I like the guy who teaches it.

Boonie humped my friend again. This is going to sound REALLY weird, like EXTREMELY weird, but she and I have kinda started a competition to see who can get the least number of humpings from Boonie. So far I'm winning, 2-4!!

Yay

My dad is back!

Last night I woke up with a cramp in my leg at 3:57. This morning when I woke up for real, I had a pulled calf muscle and its been killing me all day. And our master chose this day to run in taekwondo......grr. I've been going up and down the stairs all day like I have issues. I almost broke the railing because I was leaning on it so much. OK, not really. But it did creak.....

Dude, so my friend came over to see if I could play today and we went to go see my neighbor's new dog, Smudge. Smudge was sitting in the yard with Boonie, their other dog. We sat down with them and petted them and stuff, then Smudge and Boonie walk away. So we call them back. Boonie comes running over and I hold out my arm to block her; she grabs on to it and like, claws it to death, then she starts humping my arm. Did I mention Boonie was a SHE? Then about 10 minutes later, she humps my friend's arm, then Smudge (who is a guy) starts humping Boonie. OMG. My old teacher from 2 years ago says that dogs hump stuff to get attention....well, we were giving them plenty of attention....soooo....I personally say her theory is kinda whacked up, but thats just my opinion.

Confusion

Today in Language Arts we were talking about the holocaust because we are going to read the Diary of Anne Frank. So my teacher started talking about the concentration camps, and I do know what they are, but I misheard what she said. I thought she said "constipation camps" and got SOOOO confused until my friend who was sitting in front of me explained to me....and then she started laughing.....but anyways.....so glad I got that cleared up....I thought, "well if she says there are constipation camps then I guess there are.....what do they do all day?"

I think I started a fad in school....we were typing our MLA papers in Language Arts and I started bringing my flashdrive to school. Its a cool flippy thing on a chain and I wore it around my neck. The next day, 5 or 6 people have a flashdrive on a string around their neck....Hmmm....I wonder if I can get everybody to wear like, shoes on their hands.....

Dang

Got invited to a Wind Symphony because of being All County Band 1st chair. But I can't go! because I have Youth Symphony that day and the rehearsal times conflict!!! And it has a "Special Note " that says if you're in Youth Symphony, decline because you made a commitment already.......shoot.

NAL Match

Today we had our first National Academic League match!! We beat Jefferson 52-35. They did pretty good. OMG I got the toss-up question!!! I was so happy. It was something about "What organ is hidden inside the vertabrae?" Its spinal cord....

Oh in science we are doing a disease project. We get assigned a disease to research and we have to design a poster about it. I got Parkinson's Disease!! I know a lot of people who have it. My friend got AIDs, LOL. She saw a really gross picture of it and freaked out.

Fell asleep at 12:30 last night....ugh. I am so tired....laid in bed for 3 FREAKING HOURS!!

Today's Events

Oh wow, what a day.....we only did 2 things!! Well, they were fun, but still...

At 9:40, we went to Taekwondo for 2nd degree class and stayed until 1:00 because RY works. Since its after break and we need to lose weight from eating so much food, our Master made us run and kick and practically killed us. I was pooped after the first class, but then I took the second and the third....my muscles are cramping up right now.

And theeeen we went to Salemtowne Retirement Home to play music in the Health Care units for about 2 and a half hours.

So I didn't do too much today...

And on a different note, Obama is almost prez! I remember in Social Studies in October making election posters. Somebody made one that said

and a pic of an arrow pointing to a donkey butt.....get it? But Mr. Mack wouldn't let us hang it in the hall with all the others....LOL

I forgot

Today, my sis and I also went to go watch Marley and Me with my neighbor. It is such a sad movie! I cried, seriously. The only movies I have ever cried in is Prince Caspian and this one, and the only book is Good Night Mr. Tom.

First post of the year!!

Its the first day of the new year!! Last night I watched the Jonas Brothers sing at Times Square. Apparently it was 19 degrees, 2 degrees with wind chill factor....it was kinda funny, because the bros were so cold, their voices cracked on the high notes....

Went to a party today. Made a lemon cake that needed instant pudding mix, didn't have any, but we DID have the cook-and-serve pudding mix, so I used that. The cake come out all chunky and wet and really weird.....but it tasted really good!!
And we played Wii there, Mario Party 8. I beat everybody, lol. And the Wii fitness said my Wii age was 38!!
